Underwater Bouquet 1 & 2

April 2, 2018

Where does the time go? Such a cliché, but I am not good yet with keeping a blog. So I will attempt to update this post, at least, and endeavour to post more often with follow through.

I had SO much fun creating these pieces. What started out as one ended up being 2 finished works, each 8.5" x 11" when finished.

I have them entered in a FAN exhibit called From a Tiny Seed. This show was meant to satisfy many inquiries to this group from quilt guilds. Often our exhibits are in gallery spaces and this one is small enough that it can be shipped and shown in a more casual environment.

I love this style of fabric collaging motif's of flowered fabrics with each other to create unusual groupings of sizes and colours. Then adding metallic threads for some shine and unusual buttons if I'm lucky enough to find the weird ones.

For my next trick I'll be teaching some snow dying in Fernie in a few weeks. I hope to share some pre-workshop experiments if the temperatures next week climb above zero. Stay tuned.
